10 Best Ways to start a conversation

1) "Hello, how are you?"- There is nothing wrong with this conversation starter here. You used this starter every since when you was a little kid.

2) "Good to finally to meet you, how have you been?"- Use this conversation starter when you have seen the same person almost everyday. You can use this in the working atmosphere, at school, or in a particular store that you always go to.

3) "Hello, how is your day?"- You can also use this one anywhere and everywhere you go. It's an easy starter to remember and it works.

4) "Hello. My name is _______, Have I met you before?"- This is 50/50. Sometimes this works and sometimes it makes the person say "no" and they walk away. When it works, the conversation becomes easy after that. So this starter has it's pros and cons.

5) "Excuse me, that is a nice jacket/shirt/shoes/etc. Where did you get that from?"- People love to talk about themselves. The hard part is, if you cannot finding anything to comment, then you have to use another starter.

6.) "Excuse me, what class are you taking?" When you are in college or in a school-oriented place, you can start a conversation like this. And you wouldn't be lying. You don't know what class they are taking.

7.) "Excuse me, what department are you working in?" When you have seen somebody every now and then, but you haven't had the chance to approach them. This is how you approach the person especially if you do not see them everyday on the job.

8.) "That is a good looking book/magazine, what is that about?" If you go to the library or you go to a bookstore and you see somebody you are interested in reading a book/magazine, this is the question you use.

9.) "I like coming to this park and going through this trail on beautiful days like this. When is your favorite time to walk on the trail?" If you are at the park and see a person walking on a path or trail, approach them like this. It will make you look like a friendly person and love nature.

10.) "Where are you from?" You can start a connection by starting from here. You can say "I wanted to go there, how is it?" but if you live in the same city/state then be like, "do you like down here?"
